where is Alice?

exercise

We walked our doggies this morning. Alice enjoyed the view from her Jeep carrier from Aunt Abbey.

I did it

I snapped. I couldn't stand it anymore. Poor little Alice kept getting tickled by my hair. And I didn't even want to think about trying to blow dry all that hair every morning while trying to get my sweet baby ready to go, so...I got it all cut off.
I thought Jason would be real mad at me. He always liked my hair long. But he actually said he liked it. Cool!

Makin' Mama Happy

We had a great weekend with lots of special visitors: Papa flew down from Amarillo, Edie and Brian came down from Plano, and Bill and Jewel came from Denton.
Alice is getting much stronger. She is holding her head up longer. She likes to look over my shoulder while I am burping her with wide eyes. Also, she is starting to smile! That lights up my world. I just can't believe how much happiness it brings me to see her smile. Last night I took her on a walk in her stroller, and she laughed for me!
We just watched Dolly Parton on the Ellen show. She is having a little naked tummy time. It's so cute. I love, love, love my sweet baby.

Sniffles

Poor baby has a little cold. She has a stuffy nose and a cough. She makes the cutest little dinosaur sound when she is trying to clear her throat. It is hard for her to eat and sleep as well, so she has been a little grumpy the last few days.

Movies

We took Alice to see her first movie today--the new Cohen brothers film Burn Before Reading. She was perfect--slept through the whole thing! I was glad the movie theater seats rocked. Oh, and the movie was fabulous.

trying new things

Little Alice is learning to take a bottle. She made funny faces at first, but after a few tries she is getting better at it.
We went up to Buda Elementary School a few times this week to show off. All the teachers loved on her, and I introduced her to my students. All thought she was adorable, of course!
We are getting better about getting out. I'm not as worried about it. But I still haven't tried to shop for groceries with her by myself yet. I just don't get how that will work. I only have two hands!

Alice and the Chesire Cat

“"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?”

booties

Oh dear, Alice is about to outgrow her precious booties that grandmommy knitted for her. We'll have to put in an order for a bigger pair.
She went up to mommy and daddy's schools today to get some work done. Happy Labor Day, Alice.
