Happy 2nd Birthday, Brynn!

Alice's best friend, Brynn just turned 2! We went over to celebrate her birthday (and check out her new playhouse) the other night. She is a precious little birthday girl who knows how to say "cheese!" Alice loved her carrot cake birthday cake and the beach toy party favors!
Brynn used to seem so much bigger than Alice, but now that they are getting older they look and sound just alike-especially when they are both wearing pigtails and calling "daddy." Oh, and both girls totally love bubbles. They will be best friends forever
The little bucket of flowers are some of the clips I made for Brynn and Rowan. Colorful, huh? I had so much fun making them! After all that moving we did over the last year I'm finally getting out my craft stuff again and feeling very happy about that.

Alice's New Potty!

We got Alice's new potty tonight, and guess what-she pooped in it the very first night we got it! What a brilliant child!
She sat on it the whole time we fixed dinner tonight. She decided that she wanted her pants off, so she started trying, but we had to help. She even went into the bathroom and got out her little basket of wash cloths and practiced wiping! Where did she learn to do that? We haven't yet had the official "this is how you do this thing" lesson. I just can't believe she potty trained herself in one day! That was totally easy!

"I Love You"

We are working on "I love you," as you can see. She's almost got it!
We worked on making a birthday present for Alice's best friend, Brynn this week. Of course, we made one for Rowan and Alice while we were at it. They will be little bow holders for all the bows that we made for them! Alice added her personal artistic touch to all of the pieces.
Don't worry-in the last video where it looks like Alice is drinking her bed time bubble bath-the bottle was all washed out. It has made her very happy for days now!

Visit with the Folks

Abbey and Matt flew in this spring to go to a friend's wedding. So we all got together and had some fun! We ate lots of BBQ, gardened, and trying to convince Alice that Uncle Matt was actually quite sweet and cuddly. He fed her M&M's, and she loved that. Alice loved playing with Abbey. She still says "Abbey" all the time. Gran and Pop came down and brought bunches of wildflowers with them.
Becki, Trey and Charlie came in on Saturday to see everyone, too. Charlie is so cute! (Alice wasn't too sure about letting him play with her toys, though.) She did love showing off on her new slide.
Sunday morning I made Abbey and Matt a peach cobbler for breakfast before they had to fly back home. It was a very short, but very sweet weekend.
