Of course I took the usual weekend pictures of the little cupcake, but my camera and computer are not cooperating.
Alice is 13 weeks old this week, and she's sure happy about that. She is smiling like crazy. This morning I opened my eyes, and she opened her eyes and smiled right at me. She makes me feel like the most special person in the world, like she made a special present just for me. I love weekends when we can sleep late and love on our baby all day long.
Now that Halloween has come and gone, Daddy says that her nickname, Punkin Love has to go. Therefore I suggested Punkin Pie--a natural and seasonal progression, I thought. But, no. He says all "Punkin-ness" went out with the last holiday. So I suggested Cupcake. Cute, huh? He thinks that sounds too much like Strawberry Shortcake, the name I tried to bestow upon our prissy calico kitty.
He loves the nickname Ewok because he's a big Star Wars geek (that phase does not seem to be passing any time soon).
But I'm really into the holiday names. Holidays are SO much more fun with a baby. I can't wait till Christmas! Well, this year anyway, before she can ask for a wii.
So after all that pondering on a nickname (and with all these rigid rules applied by the father figure) I just can't think of a new nickname. But I'm sure one will come to me. All kinds of silly things come out of my mouth when I'm baby talking. I'll keep you posted.

I don't know why you're searching so hard... Gertie is acceptable for all seasons!
