4th of July

Alice celebrated her first 4th of July yesterday. We went to the Higdon's house out in the hill country outside of Wimberly. Alice tried watermelon for the second time and loved it! The first time, about a month ago, I cut it into tiny pieces so she could put it in her mouth. But yesterday I was eating a big hunk with the rind still on. She grabbed it out of my hand and and gobbled it up! When I finally tried to pry it away from her she wouldn't let go.
Alice had fun playing with Eleanor and Jonas. The two big kids were both running around the house in their super hero capes. Alice sat and watched in awe. She loved playing with Eleanor's toys. The big legos and her big bouncy balls were her favorites. You should have seen her play on that big ball. It had these little soft rubber points all over it. It kept her happy forever! She would roll over it on her tummy. So precious. We better go get her one. The kids went swimming out on the deck after we ate dinner. We saw a few fireworks and lots of stars. A beautiful night. Happy Birthday America!
